Its been months since I first started this quilt for FlyBoy and I finally pushed past some indecision this past weekend. The entire quilt top has been done for a while but I've been over-thinking all the options for borders and so was stalled out progress-wise.
I finally settled on solid borders and my very favorite mitered corners. I love the neatness and crisp perfection of well executed mitered corners.
Now I just need to find a semi large surface that doesn't have and entire cat tribe, dog hair, or mud on it so I can layer and baste the whole thing and get it in the quilt hoop.
That picture is a bit deceiving as it gives the impression of a sunny day but really its been raining for 2 days and this has been the first break in the cloud cover. The barnyard is a boot-sucking mess and the school even sent the kids home early due to some nasty flooding potential. Rumor has it there may even be a school closing tomorrow. Sometimes its nice to live on top of a hill.
I have been waiting for that quilt for a while.... I almost thought you have completely forgotten about it.... do post in some more pics ....
