I'll admit that I've been guilty from time to time of buying books or patterns that I will certainly never really do anything with. Like that pattern I bought years ago for a medieval looking nightgown getup with the open back and ridiculously wafty sleeves... like I was really gonna buy 80 yarns of batiste and turn it into a Lady of the Lake gown to sleep in.
Or that book thats all about how to make applique quilt blocks that look like pieced blocks. Seriously I just piece the darn things.
And the cookbooks. Never mind.
But books are so new and smooth and the pages so glossy and full of colors and ideas and I just can't help myself.
But this time I have a real reason. See, I've been drooling over the Little Stitches book since it hit the shelves but miraculously refrained from making yet another impulse buy seeing as how I have no baby to sew for. Now I have a baby shower to attend and the mother-to-be and her mother have been good friends of mine for so long that they know all about the craftiness so much so that if I show up with a store bought gift I will most likely be pelted with pink and blue party decorations and plastic baby bottles.
So I immediately ran out and got the book (and the Favorite Things Baby Stuff pattern) and some cute but not too-cute fabric for making some baby boy things (they're naming him Brody). Ha!
And while I'm working at things for her little boy I'm doing a bit of knitting for my littlest boy and things are just smashingly yummy.
Thank gawd I have some things going that can hold my attention because I'll tell ya if I've learned anything since the kids went off to school its that day time TV sucks big time. Ack!
