Um... about that last post... sorry for the crankiness. That whole Mama bear and her cubs thing just sort of got me for a minute. And thanks for the supportive emails... I really needed it.
Shall we move on?
Okay, here's what happens when you let a 10 year old boy pick his own fabric for a quilt...
Holy Crayola, Batman! See why we call him FlyBoy? Not too bad considering his last quilt, which he also picked fabrics for, was a collection of bug prints. The boy has style.
I have a few ideas for what to do with the above materials. Nothing in little pieces because I don't want to chop the helicopters up too much. Maybe something with big squares as the focus or wide stripes. Good news is I have plenty of time to think about it because we are on holiday break! Yeeeaaaa!!!!!!
I'll tell you it is 8:05 am and all 4 of the buggers are still sound asleep. I can't believe it. Mac Daddy is off to work and I'm sitting here with Tucker and a house full of sleeping kids. I wasn't even aware that they were capable of sleeping this late.
So with my Day Off #1 I think I'll work up that smocking info, do the photos for a new design that's edited and ready to go, and watch Martha. Well, I always watch Martha but not until later in the day... I have it set to DVR so I can watch it after schooling is done. Today... I get to watch it in real time... simple things make me happy.
I've also been informed that the younger kids have plans to whip up some paper mache today. Could be good... could be scary. We'll see.

I just got the helicopter fabric for $1/yd at WalMart. Did you get the same deal? :)

You could... use alternating squares. Large squares of the airplane print alternating with a quilt block of the red, blue and yellow.
As far as his choice - he did a GREAT job.

Enjoy the quiet before they all get up. :)
