So the whirlwind weekend turned out to be at least somewhat progressive.
The boys bowled league, the 4H leader meeting went well (I get to re-write the knitting book/outline since the one we have is older than I am quite literally), I finished some chart work, got the deadline project well underway, finished sewing Tater's jammies shirt (it still needs buttons), went to the grocery store and the feed store, refilled my prescription, started a donation hat, did some laundry, managed to keep all the kids clean and fed (including the visiting friend), and... the girls made chocolate chip cookies.
Whew.
So now, under my own New Year's advice... it's a bright new month and a bright new week and a bright new day all at the same time.
The weather man is doing his maybe snow maybe slush maybe not dance yet again. It doesn't really matter to me either way because I've got enough stuff here in the house to keep me occupied and the kids fed so whatever happens (or doesn't) I'm prepared.
I'm armed with a little ambition, a lot of ideas, a ton of yarn and fabric, and lots and lots of kind words sent from readers both here and direct to me via email. Saying a simple thank you isn't really enough but... "Thank You".
I know I'm not the only mom that has a hard time fitting it all in and keeping some sort of control. I guess it just makes it a little easier if I say it out loud on occasion. A fresh perspective, a gentle reminder, and a friendly note all help immensely.
We had a doctor's appointment this morning that set the school day back a few hours so I'm off to help the kids get caught up on the day. Once that's done I can get back to everything else so I can hopefully have something to show here tomorrow.
The snow started to fall slowly and sparsely a little bit ago... I'm looking forward to watching out the front window while I work and eat cookies this evening.
Oh, the picture up there is a little note left for me by Flash... I guess it's as close as you get to receiving a little love note from a teenage son. I think he feels a little bad about something he said last night while I was re-measuring his siblings for jammie pants. He awkwardly let me know that he really doesn't want/need another pair of jammie pants. He says the several pairs of flannel ones he got for Christmas are plenty.
I know, I know... its not an insult to my motherhood. He's just getting a little too old for mom's jammie pants. Really, I'm fine with it especially since he followed it up with a quick "But if you want to make me something I'd love another knit hat... I love knit hats!"
My teen really loves his black wristwarmers. They apparently protect him from the cold aluminum on his laptop.
Hang in there hon. Spring will come.

Hee hee, someday he'll miss the flannel jammie pants.
We're forecasted 1-2 inches w/o any crazy French Toast warnings. Meaning we might ACTUALLY get some snow! We never get any when they start freaking out and issuing warnings.
