With crafting in general making a huge resurgence it still amazes me just how much is out there and available at the click of a button.
As if I wasn't already distracted enough by the fabric shops down the road and the online yarn shopping and the catalogs that come in the mail and the great things I see in progress on other blogs be they knitting or sewing or whatever.
So I sat here over the weekend working on some heavy-brained projects I also took a little mental break here and there and what better way to relax than to peruse the internet for more crafty stuff.
Without even leaving my desk I managed to buy a dress pattern and some embroidery designs. Too cool... too easy... definitely the end of any hope I had of staying on track with one project at a time.
Of course, I'd rather buy from other Indy type designers and crafters so these were both great finds as far as I'm concerned. Check 'em out:

The Miss Madeline dress from The Handmade Dress. I figure we'll call ours the Miss Tater dress. There's even a Flickr group dedicated to patterns from The Handmade Dress... very cute and really simple.

This embroidery design is one of 38 that comes with the collection from Annie Oakleaves. I'm a sucker for those old Aunt Martha's iron on transfers but I don't have any on hand at the moment and was looking for something a little more up to date for a project I'm planning. These are exactly what I was looking for. The fact that I could instantly download them made it even better.
I love that the internet has made it so easy for independent crafters to make their designs available.
What are your favorite Indy crafter sites?
Oh man, I haven't embroidered like that since I was in 4th grade. That pattern is enough to entice a girl back into it. Too bad little boys don't dig embroidered clothes. Sigh.

Super-cute dresses and embroidery. Can't wait to see them on Tater.

I love your blog! I will add it to my list of favorites now. Your knitting is beautiful! I don't knit, but I crochet so I can appreciate anything that has yarn....ahh..beautiful yarn.

The dress is adorable. It makes me wish I had a sewing machine!

Ah! You're killing me with all these great ideas! I hadn't sewn in years until you mentioned the Favorite Things patterns a while back, and that kind of snowballed on me into a whole new obsession (besides the yarn and knitting needle one) and now these darling dresses? I just bought the patterns. I'm sure my husband will soon be taking away my computer!!!!!
