I let my birthday slip by and didn’t even bother to tell ya. Now, I’m not one of those lie-about-your-age kind of gals, in fact I’ll tell you I just turned 33 but I still rather not have a lot of hoopla about the day.
I don’t feel like I’m in my 30s. I don’t feel like I have 4 kids, one of which is now a teenager. I doubt you would I say I act like a mom of 4 either. Its really hard to look mature and respectful when your iPod is screaming Theory of a Deadman and you’re dancing in the kitchen in your denims even if there are General science Level 1 books on the table.
I am beginning to wonder if I worry more than I admit. Between the tan-in-a-can, the over-priced bras that really are a miracle and the commercials where Eva Longoria tells me "I’m worth it" and convinces me to run to the store so I can cover my grays and have natural looking highlights I just might be headed for trouble. I mean, I’m pretty sure that if I were dating I could be sued for false advertising.
Anyway.....Mac Daddy did a good one for the bDay. I told him I just wanted to relax....and knit. I wished I could sit outside and get some fresh air while the kids played. Problem is outside and relax don’t fit together in the same sentence when you have a 2 year old so MD took the holiday weekend and finished railing in our patio complete with a Tater-proof gate. He also got me a great lounge chair with a big foofy cushion so now I can lounge and knit while Tater plays out of the sun on the patio. Her and I can see the big kids in the yard or riding their bikes out front and say hello to the neighbors and watch the birds in the back yard all while I knit. Perfect!
I got the front of the orange twist done and did a three needle bind off on the shoulders. I really need to get the sleeves done now.
I know its hot out, its been in the 90s the past few days, but I’ve had a major desire to knit some more wool. Who would have thought that turquoise and coral would look so festive together?
